Friday was one of those lazy days for us. We slept in until 1:00. After we finally got out of bed we went to a few thrift stores, estate sales, and yard sales. I'm hoping to find an old high back chair to refinished this summer for my scrap room. Still searching!
We stopped by a local park on the way home for the first time. Blake swinged on the baby swings for few. Took a few runs down the slide with daddy, bc he is still little. He also sit in the sand and tried it for the first time. Be sure to check out his funny sand face in the last picture. He really enjoyed that. I will have to take him back this summer. It was getting late afternoon, by this time and therefore here in Colorado that means cold and windy in april. I cant wait to take him back to the park.
My scrap time has been very limited. Here is the only page Ive finished this week. It features the last of my pop culture KI line. (love that line~one of the best that came out lately IMO) I love the papers and the bright colors.

Sleepy
It is 2:20 am. I am tired and sleepy but my little man Blakers, is wide awake. He is watching cars (again) and drinking his bottle. Hopefully it will make him very sleepy and we can go to bed. I was going to try to catch up on some pages but I don't even feel like doing that. I'm growing more and more behind. Ahhh. I hate headaches. Enough complaining.
Today we attended the memorial service for one of Josh's fellow service members. His name was Michael Salsman. The hospital believes he died from alcohol withdraw. I didn't even realize that was possible, but then again I don't drink alot. Its just not my style I would rather spend the money on Blake or scrapbook supplies......hehehe! I have been trying to get Blake to learn Hey and Bye for weeks now. He always looks at me like Im crazy or completely ignores me. Well today, this kid was telling everyone bye and sticking his hand up. It was so cute. The best part, I know he is learning even if I think he isn't.
Blake also experienced the grass for the first time. It was still somewhat prickly and semi green/ brown. He wasn't sure at first then he kinda liked it. He took off his socks and rubbed his feet around in it. It was so cute. I didn't get a picture bc we were at the memorial service and I didnt bring my camera. I thought it would be mean to not let him down during that time, he was so restless and bored. Plus I'll have another chance once he starts walking and the grass really turns a bright shiny green. He will love that.

Clock for MIL
I have been working on this clock for months. I know it doesn't seem like it, because its not heavily designed. Actually its very simple. It turns out they are alot more aggravating to make then I expected. First I couldn't find the Heidi Swapp overlay. Then finally my LSS got them back into stock. Yay, then once I design the actual clock, somehow I managed to break the clock part. Ahhh. I put it away for weeks. When I came across a small cheap ugly little clock, it worked perfectly. Its for my Mother in law and features all 4 of her grandchildren. Going clockwise Bailey, Blake, Brennon, and Jaylin. Hope she likes it. Here it is......

My Birthday boy
Yes, its true. My precious baby boy turned 1 on April 12th. I have been dreading this day since the beginning of the year. I was simply not ready for it. I guess all mothers feel this way about their first born. I cant wrapped my head around where the last year has gone. Sometimes when I look at him, for a split second I can see that tiny newborn. Then he cracks that heart melting smile at me, with those beautiful eyes and I'm remind just how big his really is. I am very lucky to have this kid in my life.
For his first birthday, we didn't have a big party. It was just a small family event with the 3 of us. Since I'm such a mama bear when it comes to Blake, this was his first taste of cake. He wasn't so sure at first then he dug in full force. It was so wonderful to see the smiles on his face and the excitement in his eyes. He loved it. Josh and I decided on this cute little push and ride Radio Flyer car for his first gift. We have already taken several strolls in his new car and he loves it. Doesn't he look so cute in his first car?
Here are some cake pictures.
Love the look of the unknown.
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY BABY
