we broke it

I know this is not for everyone, but I like to have the baby in my room for the first year. In his crib of course, which has already arrived. I'm not comfy with a baby in the bed. No way. So to make room for the crib we had to rearrange our room to a less designed feel. We moved the side table, dresser and chest and then proceed to move the bed. We spin it around and almost have it in place, when you hear a crack............ the side where the rails insert into the headboard literally rips right off the headboard. WHAT! oh my! This sets only about 7 years old. I would expect bedroom furniture to last more than 7 years. I guess not. That means now we are on the search for a new bed for us also. We're not rushing by no means, as we don't really want to buy anything until we get the house in 2-3 more years. In the mean time we are looking. We really don't know what kind color or style we want this time.

Is it crazy thinking a bed should last alot longer than this? Maybe it has something to do with being in the military and moving so often. It was moved 5 times in those 7 years so maybe the setting it up and taking it back down took its toll. I don't know. How long have you had your bed set?

I'll leave you with 2 sets were are thinking about. I like them both for different reasons. The only requirements are tall headboard must be over 50 inches tall, and must have a footboard. I have a crazy fear of someone under the bed and grabbing my feet without one. If you see anything out there send me the link.

So sorry about the bed....just when you really need to buy another one!!

I so agree with keeping the baby in the bedroom with you...Danielle did that with both of the boys!!!

I love both of these..but I think the first is simple and elegant!!! I tend to go for simple and elegant!!!

Oh the time is soooooo close!!! Love ya girlie!!!

Both of my girls sleep in bed with us, but I get why other people won't do it. I am a lazy breastfeeder and that is all I am going to say.

Love the first one. So beautiful.

hahaaa do you want to hear what popped into my head right away when you said your bed broke and you thought it would last longer?? Usually when I young couple owns a bed and they spend plenty of time in it- it doesn't last all that long, hahaaa.
I like that second bed a lot! it looks like my sisters bed. john and i want a new bed too, ours sucks but we cant afford one right now!
I like the baby to be in my room too. not for a whole year but alex was in my room for the first six months until he started almost sleeping through the night half the time!

that is so awesome that you almost named blake alexander too! You have good taste, haha. i love the name blake too though.
thats awesome that blake has a meaningful last name!! I don't think that your second son would be insulted if he doesnt have the middle name daniel too. in most families its customary to give the first born son the family name. my dad was named thomas after my his father but his little brother doesnt have a family name and i dont think he has ever cared! my name isnt meaningful at all, just a name my mom liked. you could give brysen a different middle name that runs in your family if you have one that you like! if john and i have another son we've already decided that we're naming him sullivan john, John after john and his dad and sullivan just because john loves the name and we're going to call him sully! If we ever have a girl her middle name is going to be Rose, my grandmas name.
